This article explains what to do if a helper is not responding on ExtraHand, including when and how to cancel the task and how refunds are handled.
My helper isn’t responding to messages. Can I cancel the task on ExtraHand? If the helper you assigned is not replying to your messages, it’s best to allow some reasonable time for a response. In most cases, waiting 24–48 hours is recommended, unless the task is time-sensitive or urgent.
If the helper continues to be unresponsive or does not arrive at the agreed time, you can proceed with cancelling the task.
Before cancelling, we recommend sending one final message through ExtraHand’s private messaging to inform the helper that you plan to cancel due to the lack of response.
What happens after cancellation? Once the task is successfully cancelled:
The payment held for the task will be automatically sent back to your original payment method
Refunds usually take 5–7 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank’s processing time
